All of our Senior Hydraulic Structures Engineers have at least the education and experience listed in the minimum requirements, and we would not hire anyone for this position who did not possess these credentials. Specifically, the nature of this position requires someone with the ability to serve as civil engineer and provide water resource engineering expertise to CA water resource projects. Furthermore, in order to successfully implement these techniques that include hydraulic and structural analysis and design of hydraulic structures related to dams, levees, flood control, hydroelectric facilities, and other water resource projects, this Senior Hydraulic Structures Engineer must have handson experience in the field. Experience must include performing analysis, evaluation and design of steel and concrete structures, linear and nonlinear finite element modeling, seismic analysis and probabilistic seismic risk evaluations; supervising and directing junior staff; performing project management functions; and working with computerized applications including Microsoft software and structural engineering finite element software and other engineering applications. The employer has determined that at least a Masters degree and 5 years of experience are required, or a Bachelors degree and 7 years of progressively responsible postdegree experience are the minimum qualifications necessary to perform this position.
