Specific Skills Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, mechatronics engineering, or related field, and 5 years of progressive experience in engineering positions working on the development of safety critical systems for the automotive, aerospace, industrial or medical device industries. Must have 5 years of experience in each of the following designing and simulating embedded systems and controls in safety critical systems for the automotive, aerospace, industrial, medical device, or transportation industry, including development of modelbased architecture; developing embedded controls and embedded software using C, MATLAB, and Simulink; using communication protocols CAN, J1939, RS485, ARINC 29, or Serial Communication to define interface between embedded controllers; analyzing safety risks and proposing system design and process improvement recommendations for safety critical systems in the automotive or aerospace industries to comply with safety standards ISO26262 or DO178; testing planning, execution, and data analysis and approving safety critical systems; designing and architecting new embedded control systems, and evaluating existing embedded design architecture, including microprocessor peripherals; performing configuration management using application lifecycle management tools DOORS, IBM ClearQuest, ClearCase, PTC Integrity, Microsoft TFS, Visio, UML, or Use case analysis; performing root cause analysis. Must have 2 years of experience in each of the following managing embedded controls projects using Agile, Scrum and Waterfall methodologies; using project management tools MS Projects, project scheduling, finance reporting tools, dashboards, forecasting, resource utilization. Experience may be acquired concurrently.
