Specific Skills Masters degree in Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, Architecture or related field plus two years of experience in urban design and planning. Specific skillsother requirements Two years of experience must include analyzing existing conditions including risk and environmental sensitivity as well as soil and storm water flow patterns to understand the constraints and opportunities of the site by using GIS Geographic Information System and Grasshopper analyzing tools; integrating research, information, and precedents to establish project concept, design principles and direction; creating straightforward drawings by hand or computer aided diagrams to explain ideas and facilitating effective conversations with clients; studying various iterations of urban structure and form, open space, connectivity and infrastructure through plans, sections, perspectives and axons created by Auto CAD, Rhino, Vray, and Sketchup; preparing different scenarios and phasing strategies through critical thinking and evaluation processes to finalize suitable design strategies based on client need; developing visual realization of ideas by leveraging design methodologies, modeling concepts and illustrations through Adobe suites Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign; and providing recommendations and guidelines in grading and planting strategies, materials selection, urban forms and other aspects in the implementation process. Licensure requires LEED Certification, landscape Architecture license.
