Specific Skills:Requires a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology ,or a directly related field plus three 3 years of experience in substation design. Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering FE exam is required. Must have two 2 years of experience in each of the following Providing engineering for the design of distribution or transmission substation or switching station facilities or related systems. Experience with electric utility standard techniques, procedures, and criteria utilizing NESC, IEEE, NFPA, or other applicable industry standards. Performing substation protection and control design, engineering analysis, and supporting calculations e.g., voltage drop, conduit fill, battery sizing. Preparing new and modifying existing relay drawings including single lines, three lines, AC and DC schematics, wiring diagrams, and relay and control panel arrangements. Preparing new and modifying existing SCADA, fiberoptic, or relay communication drawings. Preparing new and modifying existing grounding, conduit, or cable routing plans. Preparing new and modifying existing Bill of Material BOM and Cable lists. Reviewing vendor submittals for conformance to specifications.
