Specific Skills Must have a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering or closely related field, and should have a record of successful undergraduate teaching. Registration as a professional engineer PE or the ability to obtain a license as a professional engineer is highly desired. Successful candidate will have the ability to teach in structural engineering and to additionally teach in one or more of the other areas of engineering. Preference will be given to candidates who have the ability to teach across a broad range of civil engineering and basic engineering mechanics courses. Candidates are expected to demonstrate the potential for outstanding teachingadvising, ongoing college service, and professional development; developing graduate undergraduate courses; and working with industry and undergraduate students in applied research. Graduates of the ASCE ExCEEd Teaching Workshop are especially encouraged to apply.
