Specific Skills Ability to provide inhome supervision of daily tasks and care of nonverbal autistic person to include assistance with, toileting, showering, hygiene, dressing, feeding, and communicating with others as part of care team that is providing support to the individual. Must be able to oversee work of tutors and other care providers who assist with individuals needs. Must be able to drive and participate in carpools to transport the individual to various educational and therapeutic appointments. Must understand nutrition needs unique to persons physical health and prepare meals that support such needs. Must be able to monitor speed of food consumption to ensure that individual does not choke and can safely consume food prepared for him. Must be able to engage with individual who communicates only through typing with facilitator. Due to the personal nature of the position, must be able to understand and communicate with nonverbal individual.
